Brick Work and Walls

A house without walls would not make much of a house, they provide the structure of the property, creating boundaries, and support for higher levels.  Keeping these in good order is very important.  This is not the only use of interior walls however, they also define spaces and provide privacy.  Adding or taking away walls is therefore a radical way to completely redesign your house, and something that we at South Coast Builders are highly proficient at.  Walls are also very important and useful outside the house, again for defining the boundaries of the property fundamentally, but also for other decorative and functional means, something that we also provide.

Interior and Exterior Walls
Adding an interior wall can create an extra room or enclosure for a number of purposes, for example creating extra privacy or redefining the space for stylistic reasons.  Similarly, taking away a wall (provided it is not a load bearing wall) can create an added sense of space, making a property feel bigger and more roomy.  This might just as easily be carried out on a commercial property as a residential premises, perhaps creating extra office space or for making a large meeting room.  We will be able to design, and build, whatever you require with our professional and experienced workforce.
Exterior walls are just as important of course.  They can be added to make an extension, on which there is more in the “Extensions and Conservatories” section.  On the other hand, you may not be looking for a new wall, but instead need work done to keep your current walls in a good condition.  For this we can provide repairs and general maintenance, for brick work or any other kind of wall.  When it comes to brickwork, repointing is an essential part of this, repairing the gaps in mortar which occurs naturally over time due to weathering as well as decay.  Without this work being done, walls can become severely damaged due to water getting into the holes, and over time freezing and thawing many times, accelerating any injury to the wall.

Garden Walls
In the garden there are even more uses for walls and brick work.  These can be functional, such as to house a BBQ or to raise a plant bed, as well as decorative such as in the building of an arch.  Or perhaps you wish to extend or raise your wall levels in order to gain extra privacy for your garden, or else replace them with something more attractive.  They need not be brick walls of course, we can also build stone walls if you wish.
